Pets at Rest Pet Crematorium, Bridgewater, Southern Tasmania

We are a family owned business, Owners James, Keri & Dean are strong believers in bringing the best pet related services possible to our island home of Tasmania.
Since December of 2022 we have owned and operated both Cornerstone and Pets at Rest Pet Crematoriums, located in Launceston and Hobart respectively. Together we provide a traditional, compassionate and dignified after life option for the pets of Tasmania.
We believe that cremation is the final act in honouring the lives of our family members. In history, fire based cremation has taken place as far back as records go, it is in essence a tradition as old as the human condition itself.
Cremation has always been an act afforded to our human family members. We believe providing that very same tradition for our pets is a way of showing that our pets are just as meaningful in our lives and worthy of that same honour.
We have been directly involved in the pet community trying to bring the best facilities and service we can through various pet related services in Tasmania. We are very proud of what we have built with Pets Now Boarding (Our Luxury Pet Hotel in Launceston) and what we now continue to build in both Cornerstone & Pets at Rest Pet Crematoriums.
We like the idea of Tasmania, despite being smaller and somewhat more remote than other states, having access to the absolute best pet services. We all want the best for our pets during life, and we realise that doesn’t change after they pass. We have this in mind with what we have and continue to build here.
Speaking personally (as me James), I will never forget when my mother (Keri) told me of her wishes for when she passes. I was very young but I still remember it clearly. Her wish was to be cremated, and for her ashes to be spread in a field in the country. Although our pets can’t talk to us this directly, I can imagine my jack russell ‘Alfie’ might have a similar request if he could. To enjoy the paddocks forever more.
